Patrick Kielty has stated being supplied a task in his first function movie, Ballywalter, was the “greatest surprise and most unexpected joy” of his profession. The comic, 52, stars within the bittersweet comedy drama, the title of which is taken from the Northern Irish city during which it’s set, alongside Irish actress Seana Kerslake. It comes as Kielty took over as host of RTE’s The Late Late Present on Friday, attracting a median viewers of 830,000 on RTE One and RTE One +1, in accordance with the broadcaster. Talking on the London premiere of the movie, he advised the PA information company that taking over the function was “left field” for him.
